Quantity Guide for Flexible Additive
Flexible additive is used in grouts where flexibility is required. It is uneconomic to use a flexible additive in ordinary rapidset adhesive; instead, use a flexible adhesive.
Manufacturers specific instructions are given on the back of the packaging, but as a general rule:
- Flexible additive is mixed 1 to 1 with water and the additive/water mix used to mix up the powder product.
- A 2.5l pack of flexible additive mixed 1 to 1 with water will mix 20kg of grout powder.
The following quantities represent a guide for commonly used sealants
on different materials, applying one coat unless stated. Quantities can
increase with some very porous products, especially terracotta.
